THE SUMTER SOIL & WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICT
Conservation Districts are political subdivisions of state government under the local direction of five-member Boards of Commissioners. The Sumter Soil & Water Conservation District promotes the wise use and care of natural resources for long-term sustainability. All programs and services of the Conservation District, USDA, NRCS, and SCDNR are offered on a nondiscriminatory basis without regard to race, color, national origin, religion, gender, age, marital status, or handicap.
We also seek to offer many opportunities for residents of Sumter to learn more about us, like through our Fellowship program or Seed Library project.Â
OUR MISSION
We seek to promote the best natural resource management practices in Sumter County through various educational, technical, and social programs.
We strive to encourage the wise use and care of Sumter County's natural resources to ensure long-term sustainability.
We hope to offer plenty of services that Sumter County residents can utilize to foster interest in resource management and nurture a healthy environment.
